Unique and Contemporary, this locket is handcrafted from sterling silver with a 3mm natural Mexican Fire Opal.
 
Comes on an 18 inch sterling chain with the artist's tag attached at the clasp. Perfect for special keepsakes and makes an excellent gift!  
 
Fabricated by hand using sterling silver sheet that is punched into discs, domed out, soldered to a hand cut rim, filed and polished. The hinge and clasp mechanism are made by hand from sterling wire and tubing. The hinge and bail are soldered to the piece along with the clasp mechanism. Tiny pieces of sterling silver are melted into balls and soldered to the front along with sterling wire. The fine silver is raised to the surface to remove firescale and prevent tarnishing. A 3mm stone is flush set in the center. The locket is brought to a glossy finish and measures 5/8 of an inch in diameter.
